A single series of this show was screen on BBC1 in January 2004. Cannon and Ball appeared in three sketches in the first episode. The series was billed by the BBC as 'Sitcom stars of the past are to appear in a new BBC1 sketch show, written by a younger generation of mostly unknown comedy writers.' Alongside Cannon and Ball the series featured Gordon Kaye from 'Allo 'Allo, Ruth Madoc from and Hi-De-Hi, John Inman, Melvyn Hayes, Leslie Phillips, Julie Goodyear, Lionel Blair, Honor Blackman, Roy Barraclough, Nicholas Smith from Are You Being Served? and Stephen Lewis from On The Buses.
In each sketch, Tommy and Bobby play soldiers in a war zone. Tommy is injured, and Bobby risks himself to rescue him. However, each time Bobby leaves Tommy behind after something else - a woman, puppies and a trifle - catches his attention.
The sketches all finish with Tommy sitting by himself and looking resigned.
